The code stores the final value
A QR code can contain a website address, plain text, Wi-Fi details, contact information or another short value. Website mode adds HTTPS when a protocol is missing, then shows the final encoded value for review. The generator does not shorten or visit the destination, so check the address before downloading.
A social QR opens a profile
A social QR stores the profile link you give it. Scanning an Instagram QR can open Instagram, for example, but it cannot make somebody follow an account, like a post or sign in. Add a caption such as Scan to follow only as a clear prompt for the person holding the phone. The action still belongs to them.
Static codes do not expire
The QR image itself has no expiry date and does not need an account to keep working. It contains the final link or other value directly. That also means a printed code cannot be edited later. If an account name changes, a page moves or a link stops working, the QR still points to the old address. Check the destination before printing a batch of cards, menus or posters.
Wi-Fi details stay inside the image
A Wi-Fi QR encodes the network name, password, security setting and hidden-network choice in the image. Compatible scanners can use that information to offer a connection. The QR does not send those details to this site, but anyone who can read the image may be able to see its contents. Do not publish a Wi-Fi QR where the network details should stay private.
Contrast and quiet space matter
The generator starts with near-black modules on white and adds a surrounding margin. Changing the colours updates the preview and shows a warning when the contrast is too low. Avoid cropping away the empty border. The border and the contrast help a camera separate the code from the surrounding page.
PNG and SVG suit different outputs
PNG is convenient for documents and everyday sharing. SVG stays sharp at different sizes and suits print or layout software that supports vectors. Choose a larger PNG when it will be printed, instead of enlarging a tiny image later.
Generation stays in the browser
The generator creates the QR code locally in the browser. The link, message, Wi-Fi details or contact information are not uploaded to this site to create the image. Scan the downloaded code with a phone after placing it in the final material. Print size, glare and nearby artwork can affect a code that looked fine on screen.
What this tool does not track
This site does not create a redirect, scan counter, editable destination or analytics profile for a QR code. The downloaded image has no connection to this tool after it leaves the browser. Use a link you control if a destination genuinely needs to change later.
